In 1962 the importance of "I Fall To Pieces"
For Patsy Cline cannot be overestimated.
It was a pivotal recording for her career.
It gave her the confidence to throw herself
wholeheartedly into ballads.
"After that she was not fearful of singing those
songs anymore. "She had been fearful of a
ballad, period. Thought it had to be up tempo.
When she started singing ballads, she not only found
joy and a release in it, but she found out,
"Well I can sing those."
"Where formerly she had performed,
now she poured her heart out.
" Where once she sang the words, she now felt them.
"I Fall To Pieces" gave Patsy her financial security
to keep singing for a living, because up until
"I Fall To Pieces"
her and her husband Charlie were struggling.

A gentleman named Ray Walker recalls,
"I remember well the day, when Patsy came to
Decca records, and she was losing her refrigerator,
losing her car, and living in a rented house.
They were gonna make it. The financial company
was on their way to take her stuff.
Decca records like the record so much that they
advanced her the money, and she could not
believe it! She was coming down from the upstairs,
in old Studio B there, and we were in the Studio,
and she said, "They'll never get'em now honey."
And she just squealed, the loudest I've ever
heard any girl squeal. It was just almost
like a 'yahoo!" But it came from the bottom of her
feet right up.
Patsy's stock was up and she was in demand!
One of my favorite hobbies is collecting and
listening to music. I have my own professional set
up for Karaoke and recordings. I have done
Weddings, Memorials, Anniversaries,
Christmas and Birthday parties.
I brought in the New Year 2000 at the
American Legion in Arvada, Colorado.
I have over 2,500 songs in my Karaoke collection
and still growing.
My inspiration to music was none other than
Patsy Cline. I sing 67 of her songs and I have been
told that I do her proudly.
The ones I truly feel from the gut down are the
ballads these songs have a way of getting
a tight grip on you and becoming part of your being.
I have made several recordings of my own, but
only on a personal level.
I am not a professional singer I just love doing it.
